Team Lead Investment Banking

About the role

A client of Deloitte's Human Capital - West Africa is looking for a Team Lead Investment Banking role in Lagos. The position covers advisory and investment banking mandates for institutional clients, including capital raising, mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory. It calls for strong analytical ability, a deep understanding of financial transactions and effective communication.

Key responsibilities

• Pitch new business opportunities in equity and debt capital markets and lead investigations into target companies' financial, legal and operational standing.
• Advise clients on corporate restructuring and long-term financial planning, and prepare pitch books and information memoranda.
• Build detailed financial models covering valuation, cash flow and scenario analysis, and analyse M&A, capital raises, debt advisory and restructuring structures.
• Support transaction structuring, including funding options, capital structures and pricing, and prepare internal investment memoranda.
• Coordinate end-to-end deal execution, including due diligence, data room management and document review, and track timelines and risks.
• Prepare analysis, presentations and briefing materials for negotiations and support relationship management with existing clients.
• Work with the Managing Director on transaction strategy and business planning, and collaborate with advisory, research, risk and compliance teams.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations and ethical standards, and contribute to training, mentoring and standard templates.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Management, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Master's degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
• CFA, ACA, ACCA, CIS or equivalent certification.
