Tax Compliance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Compliance Manager to lead Deloitte’s end‑to‑end tax compliance function for our Lagos office. The role involves overseeing staff, partner and corporate tax administration, VAT, withholding tax, tax audits and providing expert advisory support to internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staff tax processes including PAYE, statutory deductions, TCC processing and annual staff tax audits.
• Oversee partner tax administration, filing returns, managing PIT, WHT utilization and related enquiries.
• Handle firm‑wide tax administration such as monthly VAT computation, WHT remittances and responding to tax queries.
• Lead state and federal tax audit processes, prepare objections and liaise with revenue authorities.
• Maintain tax reporting calendars, produce monthly compliance status reports and reconcile tax ledgers.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives and tax compliance projects within the Finance function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline (Second Class Lower/Lower Credit) and fully qualified member of ICAN, ACCA or CITN.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive tax experience with proven engagement with revenue authority officials.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools.
• Experience with ERP systems and tax compliance software.
