Solids Control Supervisor

About the role

NOV Well Site Services (Nigeria) is looking for a Solids Control Supervisor to oversee the operation, maintenance and optimisation of solids control equipment on customer drilling rigs in Port Harcourt. The role supports safe and efficient drilling operations using industry‑leading technology.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and optimise NOV solids control equipment such as centrifuges, cuttings dryers and shale shakers.
• Perform preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical and electrical components.
• Conduct rig surveys and provide recommendations for equipment installation and set‑up.
• Monitor equipment performance, identify improvement opportunities and prepare daily operational reports.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment inventories and monthly performance documentation.
• Collaborate with drilling contractors and operators to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Participate in continuous training to expand technical expertise.
• Support workshop activities, equipment preparation and warehouse operations as needed.

Required profile

• Technical expertise in solids control equipment with a proactive, customer‑focused attitude.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience conducting rig surveys and preparing technical reports.
• Ability to interpret drilling fluid (mud) reports and understand their impact on equipment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Capacity to work independently while maintaining strong client and colleague relationships.
