Solar Design Engineer

About the role

The Solar Design Engineer will work on‑site in Nigeria designing solar power systems that meet customer needs and regulatory standards. The role involves translating energy consumption data into efficient, cost‑effective solar solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments and analyse energy usage data.
• Create system sizing calculations, layout drawings and technical documentation using PV design and CAD software.
• Collaborate with project managers, installation teams and external stakeholders to review designs and resolve technical issues.
• Continuously improve design processes and stay up‑to‑date with industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, renewable energy concepts and relevant standards.
• Ability to work on‑site, conduct field visits and manage multiple design projects.

Required skills

• Solar system design, including sizing and layout planning.
• Proficiency with PV design software.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and basic electrical design applications.
