Software Engineer (AI Training)

About the role

A client of eRecruiter is looking for a Software Engineer focused on AI training to support its team. The role contributes to developing and refining machine learning models by building data pipelines, designing annotation workflows and working with AI research teams to improve model performance at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines supporting AI model training and evaluation workflows.
• Develop tooling and automation for data collection, labeling and preprocessing.
• Collaborate with ML researchers and data scientists to turn model requirements into engineering solutions.
• Implement quality control to ensure training data accuracy, consistency and integrity.
• Build and maintain internal platforms and APIs for annotation and human feedback workflows (RLHF).
• Monitor and optimise pipeline performance, scalability and reliability in production.
• Contribute to documentation, code reviews and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of software engineering experience with exposure to AI, ML or data engineering environments.
• Experience with large datasets, data annotation platforms or labeling tools.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Preferred: RLHF or human-in-the-loop experience, LLM training infrastructure knowledge, vector databases/embeddings/RAG experience, and prior work at an AI company or research lab.

Required skills

• Python and at least one other language (Go, Java or TypeScript)
• Data pipelines with Apache Airflow, Spark or equivalent
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts, training workflows and evaluation
• REST APIs, microservices and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure)
