Senior Well Engineer

About the role

The Senior Well Engineer will lead engineering, planning and technical assurance for drilling, completion, work‑over, intervention, suspension and abandonment activities throughout the well lifecycle. The role translates subsurface and field‑development objectives into safe, cost‑effective well designs and programmes while ensuring well integrity and barrier management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop well concepts, basis of design and detailed well engineering.
• Create drilling programmes, execution documentation and operational procedures.
• Manage well control, barrier management and well‑integrity requirements.
• Provide on‑site rig support and oversee cementing, fluid and wellbore integrity operations.
• Engineer completions, work‑over and intervention activities.
• Conduct risk assessments, technical assurance and manage changes.
• Estimate costs, schedule work and optimise performance.
• Technical management of contractors, equipment and materials.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, HSE and quality standards.
• Lead post‑well review, knowledge management and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering.
• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of relevant experience.
• Professional engineering registration or membership is desirable.
