Senior Industrial Planner – Construction Estimator

About the role
Manage, evaluate and assess information required to deliver construction projects on time, within budget and to the quality specified in contract documents, while supervising engineering assistants, plan clerks and interns.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct site investigations and perform quantity/material take‑off.
- Check and prepare estimates, budgets and tender schedules.
- Contact, evaluate and recommend sub‑trades and suppliers, managing quotations and subcontractor relations.
- Participate in tender closings, compile successful and unsuccessful bids, and maintain subcontractor databases.
- Maintain unit‑price, productivity knowledge databases and career‑progression plans.
Required profile
- MSc Degree in Management.
- 5‑10 years of estimating experience on commercial, institutional or industrial buildings valued between $5 million and $50 million.
- Knowledge of structural concrete and structural steel building systems costing.
- Ability to perform conceptual estimating from written or verbal instructions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required skills
- On‑screen take‑off software.
- Agtek or equivalent earth‑work take‑off program.
- Cost estimating and budgeting.
