Risk Officer (Part-Time)

About the role

App Global Technologies is hiring a part-time Risk Officer in Lagos (Marina). The role covers risk identification and assessment across operations, products and services, monitoring of transactions and review of controls, working alongside Compliance and Technology.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and assess risks across the company's operations, products and services.
• Maintain the risk register and track mitigation plans.
• Monitor transactions for fraud, unusual patterns and potential losses.
• Review controls for payment processing, settlements, reconciliations and refunds.
• Assess risks associated with merchants, agents, partners and service providers.
• Develop and update risk management policies, procedures and controls.
• Support Compliance in identifying and addressing regulatory risks.
• Collaborate with Technology on cybersecurity, system availability and business continuity risks.
• Investigate risk incidents, recommend corrective actions and monitor their implementation.
• Prepare risk reports, escalate significant issues and train staff on risk awareness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in risk management, internal control, audit or compliance, preferably in fintech, banking or payment services.
• Understanding of payment operations, fraud risks, reconciliations and internal controls.
