Risk Management Analyst

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Risk Management Analyst to support the Head of Risk Management in building a best-in-class risk management culture across the business unit and the group. The analyst helps implement the group's risk management framework, advises senior management on identifying, measuring and treating risks, trains staff in risk techniques and ensures risks are mitigated and monitored in line with the group's Risk Policies.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Business Unit Head of Risk so that exposures from failed processes, systems, people and external events fit the risk philosophy, framework and governance.
• Help Principal Risk Owners and Principal Risk Coordinators identify key risks, mitigating controls and action plans, and ensure risk guidelines and policies are implemented across all business units.
• Ensure timely completion of Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and monthly Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), report risk events promptly and perform root cause analysis with recommendations for controls.
• Present risk analysis results and monitor action plans, risk exposure, regulatory compliance and business continuity risks, including reporting threats to the Business Continuity team.
• Take part in Management Committee meetings, develop awareness of risk management best practice and monitor emerging business risks.
• Prepare periodic reports to the Head Office and the Group Risk Team, meeting standards of quality and integrity.

Required profile

• HND or bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Economic Science or a related field; a master's degree, Certified Risk Professional or Master Risk Management qualification is an advantage.
• 5 years or more of risk management experience, preferably in industrial services or financial services.
• Strong interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
