Sectional Accountant

About the role

D'vin Integrated Services is hiring a Sectional Accountant in Enugu, Nigeria, to handle the financial records, production costs and inventory of a specific production section. The role covers bookkeeping, cost monitoring, stock reconciliation and reporting, working closely with production supervisors, store officers and the General Accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for the assigned section, recording daily transactions, expenses, material issues and production costs, backed by documentation, approvals, invoices and receipts
• Track production costs (raw materials, consumables, labour) and compare actual consumption with approved requirements; help calculate costs per unit of output and flag unusual variations
• Reconcile stock records with physical counts, monitor the movement of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods, and take part in periodic stock counts
• Review production records, track losses, wastage and rejected products, and reconcile output with inventory and accounting records
• Monitor departmental expenses against budgets, verify supporting documents and flag unauthorised or unsupported transactions
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial and inventory reports, reconcile ledger accounts and support month-end closing
• Follow accounting procedures, authorisation processes and internal controls, and support internal and external audits

Required profile

• HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to work on-site in Enugu, Monday to Saturday
• Previous exposure to audit, inventory control, stock reconciliation or manufacturing operations is an added advantage

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial record-keeping
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications
• Numerical, analytical and organisational skills, close attention to detail and integrity
