Account Officer

About the role

Lead Enterprise Support Company is hiring an Account Officer in Lagos (Shomolu) to handle day-to-day accounting and reconciliation work. The role covers recording transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and supporting financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Process invoices, payment vouchers, receipts and supporting documents.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including payment tracking and follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile supplier and customer accounts.
• Maintain petty cash records and document expenses properly.
• Support inventory reconciliation, stocktaking and monitoring of production costs.
• Assist with monthly financial reports, period-end closing, tax computations, statutory remittances and audit preparation.
• Ensure transactions comply with company policies and internal controls.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in a manufacturing company is an advantage.
• Good understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting and basic costing principles.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills, with accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with other departments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Bookkeeping, bank and account reconciliations.
