Finance Specialist (Chinese-English)

About the role

Xiaomi is hiring a Finance Specialist in Lagos (Marina) to handle local payments, expense control and financial communication with the headquarters in China. The role is full time and requires fluent Chinese and English.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and record local currency (NGN) payments and reconcile them with bank statements and other third parties such as payment service providers.
• Review all daily expenses incurred in Nigeria (travel, office expenses) for authenticity, reasonableness and compliance with company policy and local regulations.
• Post accounting entries for approved expenses and archive supporting documents systematically.
• Act as a main contact for the China headquarters finance team on daily expense, payment and compliance matters, and explain policies to local business teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written Mandarin Chinese and English; this is a core requirement.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, with strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in office software such as Excel.
• Ability to process financial documents and write financial emails in Chinese.
