Retrieval Officer – Field Collections

About the role

The Retrieval Officer is responsible for managing overdue payments from customers who purchased phones through a Buy‑Now‑Pay‑Later scheme. The role combines customer engagement, problem‑solving and asset recovery to protect the company’s financial interests while maintaining professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Contact customers via phone and, when necessary, conduct on‑site visits to discuss overdue installments.
• Identify the cause of payment delays – financial hardship, misunderstanding of terms, or intentional non‑payment.
• Provide guidance, negotiate repayment options, and document all interactions.
• When repayment is not achieved, initiate the recovery of the financed device in accordance with company policy.
• Maintain accurate records of recovery status and ensure compliance with ethical and legal guidelines.

Required profile

• Highly communicative and persuasive with strong negotiation abilities.
• Resilient, result‑driven and able to work under pressure to meet recovery targets.
• Excellent conflict‑management skills and a professional demeanor in difficult situations.
• Physically active and willing to travel across multiple locations for field visits.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on proper documentation.
