Retail Sales Specialist

About the role

Leadway, a Nigerian non-banking financial services provider active in insurance, pension funds, health management, asset management and wills and trusts, is hiring a full-time, on-site Retail Sales Specialist in Lagos. The role drives sales of its products and services to individual and small business customers by engaging walk-in and prospect customers, understanding their needs and recommending suitable insurance and financial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Explain product features and benefits and handle customer inquiries.
• Provide accurate quotations and guide customers through the onboarding and documentation process.
• Maintain strong customer relationships, resolve basic service issues and ensure a positive in-branch experience that supports retention.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet sales targets, take part in promotional activities and uphold brand and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Strong retail sales skills and the ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to build trust and long-term client relationships.
• Solid communication skills, verbal and written, for clear product explanations.
• Sound product knowledge of insurance and financial solutions and a willingness to keep learning.
• Relevant experience in retail sales, banking, insurance or other customer-facing roles is highly beneficial.
• Minimum of a relevant diploma or bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work in a target-driven environment with integrity and adherence to regulatory and company policies.

Required skills

• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Basic computer proficiency, including CRM tools and MS Office (preferred).
