QA / QC Manager – Lagos (Contract)

About the role

Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria is seeking an experienced QA / QC Manager to lead quality management activities for its Lagos fabrication and integration yard. The role is contract‑based and focuses on implementing the project quality management system, overseeing inspections, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) and develop QA/QC recovery and execution plans.
• Control the overall QA/QC organization, monitor inspectors, and ensure document control complies with project requirements.
• Prepare, follow‑up, and close Non‑Conformity Reports (NCR) and Punch List items, improving the Quality Performance Index.
• Liaise with project representatives to ensure Inspection Discipline Process and ITP are completed with minimal comments.
• Maintain real‑time QA/QC databases, issue Inspection Release Notes (IRNs) after final inspections, and review project procedures.
• Lead compliance audits, supervise documentation, and manage inspection reports, NCRs, and punch lists.
• Monitor material, consumable, and workmanship quality, including qualified welders and non‑conforming items.
• Drive continual improvement of QA/QC practices throughout construction.

Required profile

• Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001:2015.
• Certified Scheme Welding Inspector (CSWIP) Levels 1‑3.
• American Society of Non‑Destructive Testing (ASNT) certification Levels 1‑3.
• Proven experience in QA/QC management within construction, shipbuilding, or oil & gas projects.
