Projectionist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Projectionist to operate and maintain our digital cinema equipment at our luxury cinema in Lagos. You will be responsible for delivering flawless picture and sound quality for all screenings, including VIP premieres and private events.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor digital cinema projection and audiovisual systems.
• Conduct pre‑screening checks on projectors, servers, sound systems, screens and related equipment.
• Monitor picture quality, sound, brightness, focus and overall presentation throughout screenings.
• Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimise disruption.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of projection and sound equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment faults, screenings and maintenance activities.
• Report major faults and liaise with technical vendors for specialised repairs.
• Ensure the projection room is clean, organised, secure and complies with HSE and safety standards.
• Support technical requirements for VIP screenings, premieres and special presentations.
• Follow backup procedures to avoid interruptions and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• OND, HND or B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, IT, Physics or a related technical field.
• 1–3 years of experience in cinema projection, audiovisual operations, broadcast or entertainment technology.
• Experience with digital cinema projection systems is highly desirable.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• High reliability, discipline and a professional attitude in a luxury cinema environment.
