Project Planner - MEP Contractor

About the role

A leading multinational mechanical and electrical contracting company, recruited through eRecruiter, is looking for a Project Planner in Lagos. The planner determines project scope, creates work schedules and estimates the resources and costs needed to deliver the projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and track project plans of work (POW) and schedules
• Develop and maintain the risk register
• Create a detailed procurement plan based on the project schedule
• Prepare a project resource delivery plan for materials and equipment in line with the schedule
• Organize, document and track action points in periodic project meetings with all stakeholders
• Support the execution team so that actual progress matches planned progress
• Communicate project performance and progress reports to the client as required
• Analyze the work schedule to assess the impact of changes or delays and develop mitigation strategies
• Contribute to the Project Management Office by refining workflows and maintaining program trackers such as action item trackers
• Perform any other duties assigned from time to time

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or quantity surveying, with professional experience and applicable certification
• Proven project planning experience of 1-2 years
• Good project management, leadership, organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills

Required skills

• MS Project with years of experience in project execution
• Scheduling tools such as Primavera and Microsoft Project
• Knowledge of MEP work processes and sequences
• Ability to identify deviations from standards
