Project Adviser – Policy & Value Chain Engagement

About the role

The Project Adviser will support the Africa Trade Competitiveness and Market Access (ATCMA) programme in the ECOWAS sub‑regional component. The role focuses on identifying and addressing trade and investment policy barriers, activating regional value‑chain review mechanisms, and coordinating with national platforms to align workplans with the regional agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Support ECOWAS Commission and regional agencies in organizing policy‑related meetings, preparing technical documents such as reports, concept notes, policy briefs and presentations.
• Identify, shortlist and prioritize regulatory trade barriers; assist senior experts in developing policy reforms through meetings, public‑private dialogues and stakeholder consultations.
• Facilitate design, implementation and monitoring of regional value‑chain review mechanisms, coordinating interventions, tracking actions and reporting progress.
• Collect, analyse and present data on VCRM results; update strategy tracking tools and document success stories.
• Provide substantive support for policy advocacy, research studies, impact assessments and communication outputs, including press releases and social media posts.
