Procurement Officer

About the role

A full-time Procurement Officer position based in Oyo State, Nigeria. The role covers the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to delivery, and works closely with finance on vendor payments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the procurement cycle from requisition to delivery.
• Prepare, review and expedite purchase orders to ensure timely supply.
• Source and evaluate vendors while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Negotiate favourable terms and contracts to maximise cost savings.
• Monitor and manage inventory so that critical items remain available.
• Collaborate with finance to reconcile invoices and ensure timely vendor payments.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, reports and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards and regulations.
• Support budget planning and cost-control measures.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, manufacturing, FMCG or engineering is an added advantage.
• Professional certification is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Proficiency in procurement and ERP software.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and reporting.
• Excellent communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
