Inventory Officer

About the role

The Inventory Officer maintains and organises inventory records and documentation, both electronically and in hard copy, and ensures that all transactions across storage locations are accurately captured and documented. The role also covers receiving and dispatching products, coordinating with other departments to fulfil customer orders, and keeping stock accurate through regular checks.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and organise inventory records and documentation electronically and in hard copy.
• Ensure all transactions across storage locations are accurately captured and documented manually and electronically.
• Maintain product records using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Receive and dispatch products in line with the First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) principle.
• Coordinate with other departments so that customer orders are fulfilled promptly and accurately.
• Generate weekly reports on inward and outward stock movement.
• Conduct spot checks and periodic cycle counts to verify stock accuracy and report discrepancies.
• Support inventory reconciliation and ensure proper documentation of stock movements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related discipline.
• 4-5 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing or a related field.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong numerical, analytical and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or inventory management software.
