Phone Business Manager – Retail (South)

About the role

The Phone Business Manager – Retail (South) leads the performance of Sun King’s Retail PayGo Phone business across the southern region. You will oversee a network of Sun King Shops and partner stores, manage Phone Sales Executives, and ensure sales, repayment and merchandising standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Own regional sales delivery across all Sun King Shops and Partner Stores; track daily sales per store; diagnose and fix unproductive outlets; recommend activation, remediation or exit based on productivity thresholds.
• Recruit, onboard and supervise Phone Sales Executives (PSEs) following Sun King HR guidelines; ensure Litmos certification within two weeks; conduct weekly store visits and structured coaching.
• Manage sales quality and collections by overseeing customer screening, documentation, financing terms; monitor FPD and store‑level PAR30 daily; follow up on arrears with call centre and field teams; escalate risk patterns.
• Oversee inventory and merchandising: requisition stock, secure custody, reconcile balances, manage inter‑store transfers; enforce brand merchandising, POS display, pricing and contractual compliance; maintain zero stock variance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with partner store owners; coordinate with regional agent‑channel management to avoid cannibalisation; submit accurate weekly reports on time.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month experience in retail sales or a related field.
• Ability to manage a team of Phone Sales Executives and drive performance.
• Strong analytical skills to track sales metrics and identify under‑performing outlets.
• Excellent communication for coaching, reporting and partner relationship management.
