Optician

About the role

Soteria Eye Clinic is hiring a full-time Optician in Lagos (Marina area, with the clinic located on Chevron Drive, Lekki). The optician interprets eye examination results, fits eyewear and handles minor repairs, and works closely with the laboratory to deliver lenses and frames to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret the results of eye examinations, using prescriptions written by Optometrists, and advise patients on suitable lens and frame options.
• Measure, fit, adapt and adjust eyewear, and carry out minor repairs such as replacing hinges, nose pads or temples.
• Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance and optical centres using measuring devices.
• Prepare and deliver work orders to the laboratory for lens grinding and eyewear fabrication.
• Verify the quality and measurements of finished lenses and materials returned from the lab so they match specifications.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure orders for glasses and contact lenses are processed correctly, and provide excellent customer service.
• Perform other duties assigned within the field.

Required profile

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Optician.
• Diploma or degree in Opticianry or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
