Operations Product – Production Coordination Specialist

About the role

The Operations Product role is responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling production activities at the facility to meet oil and gas output targets while safeguarding plant integrity and cost efficiency. The position works closely with Operations, Maintenance and technical teams to ensure safe, reliable and optimized production.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all production activities to achieve oil and gas targets, balancing operating cost and technical integrity.
• Set operational priorities in consultation with Operations and Maintenance managers to meet production goals safely and within budget.
• Provide operational and technical guidance, coach junior staff and promote best practices to improve production efficiency.
• Act as relief for the Production Operations Team Lead, ensure facility safety during emergencies and serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
• Identify plant and process modification needs, manage work scope and lead implementation to enhance asset integrity and operational efficiency.
• Develop productive relationships with colleagues, supervisors, managers, host communities and stakeholders to sustain production.
• Maintain readiness for critical situations, organize emergency response and support HSE strategies in the Facility Manager’s absence.
• Detect potential operational problems, liaise with technical functions and drive solutions to improve plant availability.
• Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot process upsets and produce regular operation reports.
• Manage the Permit to Work system to ensure safe workplace conditions and HSE compliance.
• Oversee preventive maintenance on critical process equipment to minimise breakdowns.
• Participate in integrated planning and project reviews to capture Operations input.

Required profile

• B.Sc or HND in Engineering or Numerical Sciences.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in oil & gas production operations.
• Proven competence in core production disciplines.
