Operational Buyer

About the role

Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited (RENL), a leading producer of natural rubber in Nigeria, is hiring an Operational Buyer based in Ondo State. The buyer sources and procures goods and services that meet the company's requirements for quality, cost and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure goods and services meeting quality, cost and delivery requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate with and manage suppliers to achieve the best value, quality and performance.
• Implement procurement strategies, monitor supplier performance and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contractual obligations, legal requirements and financial regulations.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare procurement reports, support contract management and mitigate procurement-related risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Purchasing and Supply Management, Marketing, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement, supply chain management and vendor management, including 3 years in the importation process and use of Customs, NAFDAC and SON platforms.
• Member of a recognised procurement and supply body.
• Good knowledge of the Nigeria Customs portal for importation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, cost analysis and contract negotiation.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
