National Key Account Manager - Nigeria

About the role

The National Key Account Manager will lead the Route to Market strategy, expansion and overall sales execution for an international confectionery brand entering Nigeria. This senior position is responsible for driving both primary and secondary sales across modern trade, e‑commerce and distributor channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute national Modern Trade sales strategies, annual business plans and joint business plans with key retailers.
• Negotiate trading terms, promotional calendars and rebate structures while ensuring in‑store activation, planogram compliance and shelf availability.
• Lead and develop a team of Key Account Managers and Modern Trade supervisors to meet top‑line and bottom‑line targets.
• Collaborate with demand planning and supply chain to guarantee product availability and timely delivery.
• Monitor account profitability, P&L, and ROI, and report performance to the International Business Director.
• Design and implement expansion strategies covering horizontal and vertical distribution, lead generation and business development across the country.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 + years of experience in key account management, national accounts or B2B sales (senior KAM).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a related field (preferred).
• Proven track record managing large or strategic customers and negotiating complex national contracts.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Expertise in Key Account Management.
