Middle-Level Enterprise Risk Management Officer (Abuja)

About the role

A client, a reputable pension company, is looking for a middle-level Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) officer in Abuja. The role supports the growth and improvement of the ERM department and initiatives that build the technical skills of staff in the risk function. The officer helps implement the ERM programme, supports risk identification and assessment, and works with teams across the organisation to embed risk awareness in daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor risk management activities across the organisation, including finance, investments, operations, technology and legal.
• Help develop processes for tracking and reporting enterprise-wide risks such as investment, operational, regulatory, market and technology risks.
• Take part in cross-functional risk projects affecting several business areas.
• Support root cause analysis and recommend solutions to reduce risks.
• Prepare periodic risk reports for executive management and the board.
• Stay up to date with pension industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Promote risk awareness and support staff on risk management practices.

Required profile

• BSc Second Class Upper or HND Upper Credit in any course of study.
• Background in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
• 5-7 years' experience in risk management, compliance, audit or related roles; pension, insurance or financial services experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of risk management principles and the ERM process.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with different teams.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
