Mechatronics Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to design and develop electromechanical systems for UAV and robotic applications at Radseed Technologies in Marina, Akwa Ibom. The role involves turning product requirements into detailed engineering specifications, building prototypes, and supporting autonomous system integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical concepts, assemblies, and prototypes for UAV platforms, payload systems, and agricultural robotics.
• Create and review CAD models, select components and materials, and build/modifiy prototypes.
• Integrate mechanical, electrical, and embedded components, working with flight controllers, sensors, actuators, and communication systems.
• Develop test plans, conduct bench and system‑level testing, analyse failures and document results.
• Contribute to ROS/ROS 2 development and support integration of sensors and payloads using ArduPilot, Pixhawk/Cube, and MAVLink.
• Identify engineering problems, propose solutions, execute experiments and take ownership of technical areas.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Robotics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience building physical engineering systems.
• Strong mechanical design and prototyping abilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware systematically and work independently.

Required skills

• SolidWorks or Fusion 360 (CAD software)
• Understanding of motors, actuators, sensors and electromechanical systems
• Experience with UAV flight controllers such as ArduPilot, PX4, Pixhawk/Cube
• Familiarity with MAVLink communication protocol
• ROS / ROS 2 development experience
