Materials Lead

About the role

The Materials Lead will oversee the movement, storage and tracking of materials, equipment and parts across internal departments and project sites for large‑scale oil and gas projects. This contractor position requires strong inventory control, SAP expertise and collaboration with operations, procurement and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage material flow between departments and project sites, ensuring timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, storage and material tracking records.
• Administer SAP material catalogues and guarantee data accuracy.
• Coordinate repair, refurbishment and assembly of company‑owned equipment.
• Monitor transportation logistics and support project execution.
• Identify and implement improvements in inventory control and material planning.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement and Project teams.
• Perform additional materials management tasks as assigned by Project or Site Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field.
• 6–10 years of materials management experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and quality control standards.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced on‑site environment.

Required skills

• SAP materials management modules and catalogue maintenance.
• Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Access.
