Warehouse Controller – Logistics Operations Lead

About the role

The primary purpose of the Warehouse Controller role is to directly lead and optimise warehouse operations – receipt, storage, replenishment, shipping and returns – to meet and exceed set goals. You will be responsible for driving daily performance and ensuring seamless flow of goods within the warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and drive improvements in daily warehouse operations – receipt, storage, offloading, loading.
• Manage company assets in line with policy and procedure.
• Review and sign off internal governance processes.
• Conduct monthly stock counts according to inventory management procedures.
• Review bulk‑handling contracts for relevance.
• Lead all warehouse processes to ensure on‑time delivery to customers.
• Manage warehouse inventory with a focus on accuracy.
• Process customer receipts and pass customer credit.
• Manage inter‑depot and inter‑warehouse transfers.
• Handle critical products affecting logistics downtime (e.g., sorting and FLT availability).
• Drive achievement of warehouse PI’s and KPI’s.
• Participate in annual target setting and cascading.
• Cascade team and individual goals and manage performance (daily tracking, monthly one‑on‑ones).
• Develop and implement process standards such as SOPs, OPLs, OWDs.
• Maintain safety by promoting correct safety behaviours on the shop‑floor.
• Ensure optimal asset utilisation (warehouse, forklifts, human resources).
• Ensure accuracy of inventory and shipments.
• Facilitate team dynamics and manage internal/external customer complaints.
• Engage with the plant to drive VPO/DPO on the shop floor and represent during milestone audits.

Required profile

• Minimum B.Sc./B.Tech/HND in a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office/Excel.
• Strong, assertive and compliance‑driven attitude.
• Creative, dependable and self‑motivated with a positive attitude.
• Team‑oriented and able to work effectively with little direction.
