Manager, Field Monitoring (MLE) - IDG Pilot, Nigeria

About the role

Evidence Action is a global nonprofit that scales evidence-backed, cost-effective development interventions. Its Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) Delivery team runs MLE activities for Evidence Action's programs in West and Central Africa. This is a hands-on manager role: the Manager implements the MLE for the Immunization Demand Generation (IDG) pilot in Nigeria from start to finish, working directly on the work rather than supervising others. The role reports to the Senior Manager, MLE Delivery, West and Central Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Co-develop the IDG MLE plan with the MLE Strategy team, including indicators, sampling, survey and monitoring tools and data analysis plans, and prepare and submit IRB applications and amendments
• Lead budgeting and activity planning, draft the terms of reference for the independent monitoring firm and manage its contract
• Lead day-to-day field operations in Nasarawa and Oyo States, develop field plans and schedules, train and supervise enumerators, and ensure compliance with IRB approvals, informed consent and data protection
• Digitize survey tools in SurveyCTO (including Hausa and Yoruba versions), test them, and maintain Excel-based data extraction tools
• Clean and analyze data in Stata, run high-frequency checks, reconcile immunization registers and DHIS2 data, and document SOPs and codebooks
• Coordinate monthly and bi-monthly monitoring, track KPIs such as message receipt, recall and vaccination uptake, and lead learning sessions that feed program adjustments
• Act as the main MLE thought partner to the Nigeria country program team and lead all learning activities for the pilot
