Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical Equipment & Commissioning

About the role

We are seeking a senior Maintenance Engineer to lead the technical selection, procurement and commissioning of mechanical equipment for our energy and utilities projects in Port Harcourt. The role combines hands‑on engineering, vendor management and on‑site commissioning to ensure reliable plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Define specifications, select and procure mechanical equipment in line with API and ASME standards.
• Manage technical bid evaluations, handle technical queries (TQ) and deviation requests (DR) with OEMs and clients.
• Witness and certify Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and verify equipment performance.
• Oversee installation, alignment, hydro‑pneumatic testing and mechanical commissioning on site.
• Develop and execute pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures, close punch‑list items and ensure system readiness.
• Provide on‑call troubleshooting and technical support during construction and operational phases.
• Lead maintenance engineering activities, including root‑cause analysis, condition monitoring, reliability improvement and spares optimisation.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical equipment procurement, commissioning and maintenance engineering.
• Proven experience working with API and ASME standards.
