Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to lead mechanical equipment selection, procurement, and commissioning for our oil & gas process plant projects in Port Harcourt. The role combines technical oversight of vendor activities with hands‑on commissioning and ongoing reliability engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical selection, specification, procurement and vendor evaluation of mechanical equipment in line with API and ASME standards.
• Manage technical bid evaluations, queries (TQ) and deviation requests (DR) with OEMs and clients.
• Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and verify equipment performance against design criteria.
• Oversee installation, alignment, hydro‑pneumatic testing and mechanical commissioning on site.
• Develop and execute pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures, ensuring punch‑list closure.
• Provide troubleshooting and on‑call support during construction, installation and operation phases.
• Lead maintenance engineering activities including root‑cause analysis, condition monitoring, reliability improvement and spares optimisation.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role within oil & gas process plants.
• Membership of NSE and COREN registration.
• Proficiency in Caesar II and strong command of OEM datasheets.

Required skills

• API 610/611/617 standards.
• ASME Section VIII Div 1 & 2, ASME B31.3/31.4/31.8.
• ANSI B16 series.
• Caesar II expert.
• Root‑cause analysis (RCA) and condition monitoring.
• Pumps and rotating equipment expertise.
