Lead, Head Office Operations Control

About the role

The Lead, Head Office Operations Control is a systems‑thinking professional responsible for assessing, monitoring and reporting on the adequacy of internal controls across all head‑office operational functions and shared services. Reporting to the Head of Internal Controls, the role safeguards assets, ensures regulatory compliance and supports risk‑aware decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the annual internal‑control activity plan for head‑office operations and shared services.
• Identify, assess and prioritize operational risks, designing control programmes to mitigate them.
• Act as the primary 2LoD advisor to support‑function leaders on control matters and process improvement.
• Design and execute risk‑based control assessments for GL movements, people operations, real‑estate, procurement, customer‑complaints handling and physical security.
• Manage and develop a team of Shared Service Control Officers and drive the control‑testing programme.
• Serve as the main liaison between the Internal Control Department and all head‑office support functions.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years (72 months) of experience in internal controls, operational risk or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of internal‑control frameworks such as COSO and ISO 31000.
• Experience in a banking, fintech or financial‑services environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders.
