Language Assistant (English-Chinese)

About the role

Fabcom Structural Limited, a leading roofing manufacturer in Nigeria, is looking for a Language Assistant to facilitate communication between English‑speaking and Chinese‑speaking stakeholders. The role involves translating documents, interpreting meetings, and supporting market research with accurate language services.

Key responsibilities

• Translate documents, correspondence and other materials between English and Chinese with high accuracy.
• Interpret verbally during meetings, conferences and business interactions.
• Assist market research and competitor analysis by translating relevant reports and data.
• Develop and maintain translation glossaries and terminology databases.
• Ensure attention to detail and consistency across all translation and interpretation tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of professional Chinese‑English translation experience.
• Excellent written and spoken proficiency in both English and Chinese.
• Strong cultural understanding of Chinese and Nigerian business environments.
• Experience in the manufacturing or construction sector is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with translation software and computer‑assisted translation (CAT) tools.
