Junior Accountant – Real Estate & Finance

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Lekki, Lagos. The role supports multiple subsidiaries in the real‑estate, construction, fintech, micro‑finance and hospitality sectors, handling consolidation, compliance and performance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for all subsidiaries and ensure statutory documentation.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, including inter‑company reconciliations and eliminations.
• Ensure compliance with industry‑specific regulations such as real‑estate construction accounting, REIT fund management, micro‑finance prudential guidelines and fintech payment reconciliation.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting, monitor variances and provide performance analysis.
• Compute, file and remit taxes (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE) in line with FIRS and state authorities.
• Oversee vendor, contractor and customer payments, and reconcile multiple bank accounts daily.
• Generate financial reports with insights on profitability, cost drivers and revenue trends.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and strengthen internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2‑3 years post‑qualification experience in at least two of the listed sectors.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA or CPA is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws and sector‑specific regulations.

• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage or ERP systems).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Group consolidation and inter‑company transaction handling.
• Payment gateway reconciliation for fintech operations.
• Construction job costing and IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
