HR Manager – West Africa

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to act as a trusted partner for managers and employees across West Africa. The role involves providing practical, commercially‑focused HR advice, building strong stakeholder relationships and ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define, develop and implement HR operating frameworks, policies and procedures for the region.
• Oversee day‑to‑day HR services such as payroll, leave management, onboarding, off‑boarding and promotions.
• Implement and monitor HR KPIs aligned with business strategy.
• Maintain up‑to‑date organisational structures and job descriptions.
• Evaluate jobs and compensation packages against market trends.
• Lead manpower planning, recruitment and talent acquisition to attract top talent.
• Develop and roll out talent management, development and employee‑relations programmes.
• Partner with senior management on recruitment, career development, succession planning and talent management.
• Conduct training needs analysis and deliver training interventions.
• Support ERP/HR system implementation to improve efficiency through automation.
• Ensure compliance with local labour regulations, QHSSE requirements and internal policies.
• Coach, lead and manage the performance of the HR team, setting goals and providing feedback.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR business partner or manager in a multi‑country environment.
• Strong knowledge of West African labour laws and international HR best practices.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on cost‑effective HR service delivery.
• Experience in developing compensation, reward and recognition programmes.
• Demonstrated capability in leading recruitment, talent management and succession planning.
• Hands‑on experience with HR metrics, KPI monitoring and performance management.
• Ability to drive change and implement HR systems and processes.
