HR Lead

About the role

Jewels Leading Lights Academy is recruiting an HR Lead in Abuja to lead the human resources function. The role covers strategy, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation and compliance, and leads the HR team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and employee lifecycle processes, and advise management on people matters
• Lead recruitment from planning and job analysis to onboarding, build a talent pipeline and run induction programmes
• Handle employee concerns, grievances and disciplinary matters, conduct exit interviews and analyse turnover trends
• Design and run performance management systems, including reviews, appraisals and goal setting
• Identify training needs, plan training and support coaching, mentoring and career development
• Support compensation and benefits programmes, payroll accuracy and salary benchmarking
• Develop HR policies, handbooks and employee records, and ensure compliance with employment laws
• Run engagement initiatives, surveys and reporting on turnover, absenteeism, headcount and staff costs
• Lead, coach and develop the HR team

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management, Psychology or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role
• Experience managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management and HR policies
• Good knowledge of Nigerian employment practices and labour regulations
• Professional HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM or HRCI is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills
• HR information systems or HR management software experience is an advantage
• Strong Microsoft Office/Google Workspace skills and ability to prepare reports and presentations

What we offer

• Remuneration of NGN 250,000 to 400,000 per month
