HR Assistant – Hybrid (Karu, Abuja)

About the role

The HR Assistant will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department, ensuring smooth execution of recruitment, onboarding, payroll assistance, and employee engagement processes. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented individual who can maintain confidentiality while delivering reliable support to both employees and management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with posting job vacancies, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.
• Prepare onboarding materials, facilitate new‑employee orientation, and maintain recruitment trackers.
• Maintain accurate employee records, draft contracts and confirmation letters, and update HR databases.
• Support payroll preparation by providing attendance, leave, and overtime data; address routine payroll queries.
• Respond to employee inquiries on HR policies, support engagement initiatives, and help organize staff meetings and events.
• Coordinate performance appraisal timelines, maintain performance records, and track development plans.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations, assist with HR audits and statutory reporting.

Required profile

• Highly organized and detail‑oriented with strong administrative skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Junior‑level experience (minimum 1 month) or recent graduate eager to grow in HR.
