Head, Trade Services Unit

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Head of Trade Services to lead and oversee all trade-related operations at Dangote Cement Plc, covering import, export and domestic trade. The role calls for strong leadership, deep knowledge of international trade regulations and the ability to optimise processes that support the supply chain and market expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement trade services strategies aligned with company goals, and lead and mentor the Trade Services team.
• Oversee import/export documentation, customs clearance and compliance with international trade laws, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods across borders.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor changes in trade regulations, implement risk management practices and maintain accurate records and audit trails for trade transactions.
• Streamline trade processes, introduce digital tools and automation for documentation and reporting, and drive continuous improvement.
• Act as the main liaison between internal departments (procurement, production, sales) and external trade partners, represent the company in trade associations and industry forums, and guide business decisions on trade matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 10-15 years of experience in trade services, logistics or supply chain, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and leadership skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in trade management software and ERP systems, such as the CBN Trade Portal.
• Strategic thinking, project management and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
