Head of Cybersecurity

About the role

A leading African technology company, recruited through eRecruiter, is hiring a Head of Cybersecurity. The role leads the Cybersecurity business unit and aims to grow the company's Cybersecurity consulting practice through strong technical delivery and solution selling, while building a strong team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business development, including methodology development, proposal writing and presentations to potential clients
• Drive new business opportunities to meet targets, keep healthy pipelines and accurate forecasts
• Develop go-to-market strategies for areas such as endpoint protection, network security, identity and access management, data privacy, IT risk assessment and cloud security
• Design and architect IT security solutions for customers
• Maintain the company's OEM partnership status by keeping the required OEM competencies and advanced specializations
• Collaborate with internal front and back-office staff to achieve corporate objectives
• Provide innovation and thought leadership, and mentor and coach direct reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, engineering or a related field, with cybersecurity or IT-related certificates
• Minimum 10 years in information security or cyber-related consulting
• Previous cybersecurity consulting experience across multiple engagements in a security/advisory practice
• Ability to write reports, analyses and methodologies in English
• Strong critical thinking, autonomy, flexibility, communication and client delivery focus

Required skills

• Knowledge of SIEM, firewalls, IAM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, authentication and authorization, and cloud security
• Core security concepts: network architecture, risk management, defense in depth, zero trust
• Deep technical expertise deploying and managing solutions from at least two of Microsoft, Cisco, Check Point, Trend Micro, Sophos or Fortinet
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, OSCP or CCSP, or equivalent OEM certifications
