Head of Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Accounting to lead our finance function at TalentAce Ltd, a growing player in the banking and micro‑finance sector in Lagos. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for the integrity of all accounting processes and the delivery of accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial accounting, general ledger management and timely financial reporting.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cost control and comprehensive financial analysis.
• Ensure accurate bank, cash and account reconciliations.
• Drive tax, regulatory and statutory compliance, including Central Bank of Nigeria requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and strengthen financial controls.
• Manage payroll, payables, receivables and other financial administration functions.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Accounts team while promoting process improvement and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking & Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent (strongly preferred).
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in banking or micro‑finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Deep knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, reconciliations, controls and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• High integrity, accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.
