General Manager - Hospitality

About the role

A General Manager position based in Abuja, Nigeria, in the hospitality and hotel industry. The GM oversees the day-to-day management of the business on behalf of the managing director, delivering objectives on profitability, service and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, collate and resolve maintenance needs across company facilities
• Handle petty cash, expenses, disbursements and accountability
• Oversee daily operations and report regularly to the managing director
• Ensure agreed targets are met within set timelines and follow up on delegated work
• Resolve tenant complaints within agreed turnaround times
• Source vendors, negotiate contract bills and follow up on execution
• Manage the team with managers, monitor performance and workloads
• Handle HR matters such as recruitment, salaries, discipline, performance appraisals and staff welfare
• Identify training needs and support staff development

Required profile

• First-class degree with a sound technical background in hospitality management and administration
• Proven experience as a general manager in a five-star hotel, with supporting proof
• Minimum of five years' experience
• Age between 40 and 50 years
• Excellent background in facility management and operations; construction and building technology knowledge is an added advantage

Remuneration is NGN 700,000 to 1 million per month, subject to review after six months based on performance.
