Financial Controller

About the role

An experienced Financial Controller is sought to oversee financial operations, reporting and internal controls. The ideal candidate has strong experience in a manufacturing or PLC environment and can ensure financial integrity, compliance and effective financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term vision and objectives.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in line with regulatory requirements and international accounting standards.
• Advise on long-term business and financial planning and prepare an annual bottom-up budget, with quarterly forecast updates.
• Analyse deviations between actual results and budget/forecasts before monthly submissions.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity and working capital; optimise banking relationships and financing arrangements; monitor foreign exchange exposure and implement hedging where needed.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations, monitor KPIs and financial metrics, and ensure transactions are real, correctly calculated, approved and accurately booked.
• Lead and develop the finance team, build relationships with senior management and external stakeholders, and carry out any other duties assigned by the Managing Director and Board.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• 10-15 years of experience in finance leadership roles in medium-to-large accounting/finance departments, preferably in PLC or manufacturing.
• Mandatory experience in manufacturing or PLC environments.
• Proven experience preparing accounts, budgets and financial analysis.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent is required.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial regulations, and experience in financial reporting, controls and compliance.
• Understanding of costing, inventory management and operational finance.
• Experience with audit processes and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems such as SAP and Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good understanding of the local taxation regime and payroll and benefits administration.
