Finance Manager – Tax

About the role

The Finance Manager (Tax) will lead the company’s financial stewardship, ensuring compliance with Nigerian Central Bank regulations and overseeing all tax‑related activities. This senior position reports to the Group finance team at headquarters and is based in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Leadership and team management: Build and guide a high‑performing finance team, coordinate cross‑cultural communication with Nigerian regulators, external institutions and the overseas group finance team.
• Treasury management: Maintain strong relationships with local banks and third‑party channels, resolve treasury operation issues efficiently, and support cash‑flow and capital management.
• Taxation (≥50% of time): Design and implement compliant tax planning strategies, handle inquiries, inspections and audits from FIRS and LIRS, and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of tax policy trends.
• Compliance and stakeholder communication: Organise annual external audits, strengthen internal controls, standardise reimbursement and payment processes, and liaise with banks, funding partners and regulatory bodies such as CBN and FCCPC.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline; professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience, including at least 4 years in the financial services industry and 2 years in a senior management role.
