Finance Executive

About the role

A full-time Finance Executive position based in Abuja (FCT) is open to candidates with strong accounting and finance experience. The role covers financial policy, cash flow, reporting, invoicing, tax compliance and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Manage and monitor cash flow, including income, expenditure and investments.
• Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including management accounts.
• Maintain up-to-date financial records and documentation for all transactions.
• Ensure accurate invoicing, track client payments and reconcile receivables.
• Review financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements and cash flow reports.
• Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances and cost optimisation opportunities.
• Monitor transactions to detect and investigate irregularities or discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, support tax planning and manage tax filings.
• Liaise with auditors and support internal and external audit exercises.
• Track economic and market changes affecting financial planning and risk, and give strategic input on cost-saving and revenue-improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting function in a finance house.
• Professional certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, ICAN) is a strong advantage.
• Solid knowledge of financial regulations, reporting standards and best practices.
• Experience in invoicing and tracking client payments is essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality and good communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or similar tools
