Finance & Accounts Lead

About the role

Bardge connects users, wellness providers and distribution partners, and is looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Finance & Accounts Lead to own its financial operations and accounting function. The role runs the finance function end to end, initially without direct reports, in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. It covers accurate record-keeping, timely reporting, strong financial controls, and keeping cash, revenue, costs and outstanding obligations clear.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and lead invoicing and collections for business clients, tracking receivables
• Manage payments to service providers so settlements are accurate and on schedule
• Support monthly financial reporting (cash flow, P&L, balance sheet) and prepare financial statements and compliance filings
• Ensure payroll is accurate and disbursed on time
• Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways, partner settlements, visits, partner billing, provider entitlements, payment records and bank transactions
• Follow up partner invoices, outstanding balances and disputes to resolution
• Produce a weekly cash position and short-term cash forecast, and maintain a finance calendar
• Work with operations and growth teams on financial planning and budget tracking, and liaise with external accountants and auditors

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 4+ years of accounting and finance operations experience
• Experience in a business with frequent transactions and payments to many vendors or partners; marketplace, payments, HMO, hospitality or subscription experience is a plus
• ICAN or ACCA qualification, or meaningful progress towards one, is desirable
• Own laptop and reliable internet access

Required skills

• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivot tables and reconciling large datasets
• Bookkeeping and financial reporting principles
• Practical experience with accounting software and producing management accounts
• SQL, Metabase or workflow automation experience is an advantage
