Field Service Manager - Solar Energy

About the role

A fast-growing renewable energy company providing off-grid power solutions to businesses and homes across Nigeria is hiring a Field Service Manager through its recruiter partner. The manager leads and oversees field operations in the assigned region, ensuring optimal system performance, service uptime, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The role manages field engineers, supervises maintenance, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards and supports regional expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Field Service Engineers across assigned clusters.
• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of deployed solar installations.
• Coordinate routine inspections, preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.
• Conduct site visits to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in solar PV systems, inverters and battery storage solutions.
• Ensure service uptime and prevent operational disruptions.
• Monitor and achieve operational KPIs and performance targets.
• Conduct acceptance testing for newly deployed systems and ensure maintenance complies with OEM guidelines.
• Maintain strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
• Support cost control and OPEX reduction, and manage incident response for solar deployments.
• Coordinate with project teams on installation scheduling and service delivery, and report regularly to senior engineering leadership.

Required profile

• HND or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience in solar or power systems operations.
• Experience managing technical teams in field operations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Preferred: ability to travel within assigned regions, strong leadership and people management, and a compliance-driven mindset.
