Field Recovery Officer

About the role

FairMoney is seeking a results‑driven Field Recovery Officer to manage in‑person loan recovery for its growing portfolio of customers in Nigeria. The role is field‑intensive, requiring frequent visits to borrowers to ensure timely repayments and maintain portfolio health.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of active and overdue loan customers.
• Conduct regular in‑person visits for payment follow‑ups and reminders.
• Secure timely recovery of outstanding repayments.
• Engage customers firmly and professionally to reinforce repayment obligations.
• Identify high‑risk accounts and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of field interactions and recovery progress.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve overall portfolio performance.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in collections, field operations, or credit recovery (fintech/micro‑finance a plus).
• Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
• High confidence, resilience, and professionalism in difficult conversations.
• Willingness to spend significant time in the field.
