Factory Accountant – Manufacturing Cost Management

About the role

The Factory Accountant will oversee all financial activities related to manufacturing, ensuring accurate cost accounting, inventory valuation, and production cost control. This role supports budgeting, provides financial insights, and helps improve operational efficiency and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain costing systems, monitor standard vs actual costs, and analyse variances.
• Track and value raw materials, work‑in‑progress, and finished goods; reconcile inventory with physical counts.
• Assist in preparing operational budgets and forecasts, monitor performance, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare factory‑related financial reports, ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory regulations, and liaise with auditors.
• Collaborate with HR and production to record labour costs and analyse labour efficiency.
• Monitor capital investments, maintain fixed‑asset registers and depreciation schedules.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of experience in manufacturing or production accounting, with strong cost accounting and inventory control background.
• Attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
