ESG Manager – Investor Reporting & Data Infrastructure

About the role

Babban Gona is seeking an ESG Manager to own end‑to‑end investor and donor ESG reporting, build robust data infrastructure, and ensure compliance with Nigerian ESG regulations. The role will turn fragmented environmental, social and governance information into a structured, timely intelligence hub for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ESG reporting for investors and donors, delivering accurate, on‑time reports.
• Design and implement ESG data pipelines linking field operations, finance and delivery teams.
• Develop measurable environmental metrics (soil health, water use, input impact).
• Track smallholder welfare, gender inclusion and community impact.
• Monitor and apply Nigerian ESG regulations and international frameworks (GRI, SASB, SDG alignment).
• Serve as the internal ESG expert, answering queries and guiding stakeholders.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of Nigerian ESG regulations and international standards.
• Proven experience building ESG frameworks from scratch in agriculture, NGOs or impact finance.
• Ability to work independently, anticipate gaps and close them without direction.
• Strong understanding of smallholder farmer contexts and impact measurement.
